Shopping for disc golf baskets, retrievers & markers can mean choosing between a complete practice target and a small accessory. The useful question is whether you need a basket for repeated putting practice or lighting for an existing setup. These four choices split cleanly: three are full baskets, while the two-light LED set illuminates a basket but does not include one.
Quick take
- For a full target: The Axiom Pro HD and MVP Black Hole Pro HD are the two Pro HD-named choices, while the Axiom Lite offers a different model and color presentation.
- For color: Axiom lists Royal Blue for the Pro HD and Lime for the Lite, with both titles offering color-oriented wording.
- For lighting: The LED set is an accessory rather than a disc golf target, with remote color changes and brightness adjustment.
- For a clean decision: Pick by whether you need a basket at all, then use the model name, listed color, and construction details as the tie-breakers.

Decision matrix
- Need a complete target with Pro HD naming: Compare the Axiom Pro HD and MVP Black Hole Pro HD. Their descriptions both emphasize sturdier basket construction, deeper cages, and standard-regulation dimensions.
- Want a color-forward basket: The Axiom Lite is described with vibrant colors and is listed in Lime.
- Want the Axiom color-choice wording: The Axiom Pro HD title includes Choose Color, with Royal Blue as the listed configuration.
- Need lighting instead of another target: The two LED pod lights add remote-controlled color and brightness adjustment, but the basket itself must be supplied separately.
Product notes
Axiom Disc Golf Basket Pro HD Catcher Target MVP Disc Sports - Choose Color
The Axiom Pro HD is the full target choice for shoppers who want all-metal construction, a threaded tension connection, and assembly described as taking under one minute. Its 12 outer and 12 inner chains are equidistantly oriented, with the design described as reducing cut-throughs and pole bounces. The description also says it meets standard PDGA height and size regulations. Royal Blue is the listed color, while Choose Color appears in the title. The limitation is that its Basket Type is identified as Light-Duty, so shoppers should treat that classification as part of the selection rather than assume a different build category. It fits best when the Axiom Pro HD name and color presentation are the priority.
Axiom Disc Golf Basket Lite Catcher Target MVP Disc Sports - Choose from Colors
The Axiom Lite suits a shopper who wants a colored full basket with a clearly different model identity from the two Pro HD-named choices. Its description highlights vibrant colors, powder-coated coloring over the basket head to toe except for the chains, two chain tiers, 24 heavy course-weighted strands, and threaded tension connections for rapid, sturdy assembly. Lime is the listed configuration, giving the color decision a concrete starting point. The limitation is equally specific: the listed model is Light rather than Pro HD. Choose this basket when the color-forward presentation and the 24-strand layout appeal more than the Pro HD wording.
MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Pro HD Catcher Target
The MVP Black Hole Pro HD is the direct choice for shoppers drawn to the Black Hole Pro HD name and a black matte finish. Its description specifies thick 8mm wire, a sturdier chain rack, deeper cage, and stronger base, plus a double-tier design with 24 heavy-duty chains divided between 12 outer and 12 inner strands. It is also described as meeting standard PDGA height and size regulations and assembling in under one minute. Black is the listed color, so the visual direction is straightforward. The limitation for shoppers seeking a brighter finish is that Black is the listed configuration. Choose it for the named model and its stated construction details, not because a numeric specification alone proves a better result.
2 LED Disc Golf Basket Lights
The 2 LED Disc Golf Basket Lights set is for changing the practice setup without buying another target. It includes two remote-controlled, waterproof, multicolored pod lights; each has 10 LEDs, color changing, and brightness adjustment. Placed on top of a basket and aimed downward, the lights are described as illuminating the cage, chains, and surrounding ground. That makes the set a clear fit for lighting-focused practice. Its decisive limitation is explicit: the actual basket is not included. Each light also uses three AAA batteries, which are not included, so this is an accessory purchase rather than a ready-to-use basket. Choose it when illumination is the goal and a basket is already part of the setup.
Final recommendation by use case
For the Axiom color-choice path, choose the Axiom Disc Golf Basket Pro HD Catcher Target: its title includes Choose Color and the listed configuration is Royal Blue. For the Black Hole naming and black finish, choose the MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Pro HD Catcher Target. The Axiom Disc Golf Basket Lite Catcher Target is the clearest fit for a color-forward basket with the Lite and Light model wording. If the need is remote-controlled illumination rather than a disc golf target, choose the 2 LED Disc Golf Basket Lights, remembering that the basket and AAA batteries are separate requirements.
