Choosing among disc golf drivers gets tricky when a distance mold, a fairway driver, and two plastic versions of one mold all look like plausible answers. The useful shortcut is to decide what flight slot and throwing feel you need first, then use price to separate close matches. Here, the Vanish pair offers the same named mold in Fission or Neutron plastic, the Rhythm targets a fairway role and newer players, and the Heat brings a smaller rim with distance language for slower arm speeds.
Quick take
- For the Vanish flight profile: Axiom FISSION VANISH and Axiom NEUTRON VANISH share the same stated flight ratings. The decision is Fission versus Neutron plastic, plus the price difference.
- For a fairway or first-driver role: Axiom FISSION RHYTHM is the focused choice, with description language aimed at newer players and line-shaping fairway shots.
- For grip and slower arm speeds: Discraft ESP HEAT stands apart with its smaller rim and emphasis on control, glide, and distance at slower arm speeds.
The practical choice is therefore role first, then plastic or rim preference. There is no need to treat the four molds as interchangeable: three are distance drivers, while Rhythm is classified as a fairway driver.

- Same mold, different plastic: Choose between Axiom FISSION VANISH and Axiom NEUTRON VANISH without expecting different stated flight ratings.
- Smaller-rim priority: Discraft ESP HEAT is the choice whose description specifically calls out easier grip and slower-arm-speed distance.
- Newer-player starting point: Axiom FISSION RHYTHM and Discraft ESP HEAT both have description language aimed at developing players, but they occupy different driver roles.
Product notes
Axiom FISSION VANISH
This is the Vanish in Fission plastic, with a listed distance-driver classification and stated speed 11, glide 5, turn -3, and fade 2 ratings. The description positions its flight from straight to understable depending on the thrower and wind, including a controllably understable line at higher power or in mild headwinds. Choose it when that specific Vanish flight profile and Fission plastic are the priority. The limitation is straightforward: at $21.95, it sits $5 above the Neutron Vanish, whose mold name and stated ratings match. The VAF 24 color pattern is also part of the named selection.
Axiom NEUTRON VANISH
The Neutron Vanish keeps the Vanish's distance-driver role and the same stated 11/5/-3/2 flight ratings as the Fission version, while naming Neutron plastic and VB 24 color pattern. Its description gives a straight-to-understable profile that can vary with thrower and wind, making the mold the focus rather than a different flight specification. Choose it when the Vanish profile and Neutron plastic fit your selection. The tradeoff is that shoppers deciding specifically on Fission plastic should choose Axiom FISSION VANISH instead. Weight and color are part of the title's pick-your-own wording.
Axiom FISSION RHYTHM
The Fission Rhythm changes the choice from a distance driver to a fairway driver, with speed 7, glide 5.5, turn -2, and fade 1. Its description specifically presents it as a first driver for newer players or a line-shaping fairway driver for power arms, and says Fission plastic enhances its natural flight qualities. That makes it a clear fit for fairway control or a first-driver role. The limitation is category-specific: anyone seeking a distance-driver classification will be choosing outside that slot. At $21.95, it also shares the higher listed price in this comparison. The RF 2 color pattern is named.
Discraft ESP HEAT
The ESP Heat is a distance driver with a smaller rim described as easier to grip, plus a stated emphasis on control, glide, and distance at slower arm speeds. Its listed ratings are speed 9, glide 6, turn -3, fade 1, with a stability rating of 0.0 and weights from 160 to 175. Choose it when rim size and slower-arm-speed distance matter more than matching the Vanish mold. The limitation is that it is a different mold and plastic-ESP-so it cannot meet a request specifically for the Vanish name or Fission/Neutron choice. Its listed price is $16.95.
Final recommendation by use case
Choose Axiom FISSION RHYTHM when the assignment calls for a fairway driver or a first driver for newer players. Choose between Axiom FISSION VANISH and Axiom NEUTRON VANISH based on Fission versus Neutron plastic, since their stated flight profile matches. Choose Discraft ESP HEAT when the smaller rim and slower-arm-speed distance description speak directly to your throwing needs. For a Vanish-specific purchase, Axiom FISSION VANISH is the straightforward Fission-plastic choice, while Axiom NEUTRON VANISH keeps the same mold in Neutron plastic.
