Choosing among dive computers and instruments starts with a practical question: do you want tank-pressure information integrated into the computer, a console format, or a computer without air integration? These four choices take very different approaches, so the right pick depends on your dive plan, preferred format, and tolerance for used gear-not just the headline price.
Quick take
The fastest shortlist is straightforward: the Shearwater Teric with transmitter is the air-integration package, the Suunto Cobra is the air-integrated console, the black Shearwater Teric specifies a 55mm case, and the Shearwater Perdix explicitly identifies its original configuration without air integration. Use the matrix to compare modes, condition, and included hardware before making the final call.

Decision matrix
Use this as a fast filter rather than a ranking:
- Mode emphasis: The Shearwater Teric transmitter package names Air, Nitrox, Trimix, Tech, CCR, and Freediving modes. The Suunto Cobra names Air, Nitrox from 21% to 50%, and Gauge modes. These are the stated mode lists, not a performance ranking.
- Condition: The black Teric, Teric transmitter package, and Perdix are marked Used. The Suunto Cobra is marked New.
- Physical considerations: The black Teric specifies a 55mm case and silicone band. The Perdix is explicitly a wrist dive computer, while its description flags scratches and broken buckle arms.
- Package direction: The black Teric names a charger, case, documents, and carabiner. The transmitter package names a transmitter, charging station, and case. The Perdix says only the computer is included, while the Cobra includes an extra battery.
Product notes
Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm
The Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm stands out for a clearly described bundle: the computer is accompanied by an M/L band, genuine charger, case, documents, and carabiner. That makes it a sensible pick when included accessories matter alongside the computer itself. The limitation is its $624.99 listed price, which calls for a more deliberate choice than the Cobra. Its 55mm case and silicone band are useful specification points for fit and handling, but they do not establish a better dive experience by themselves. Choose this Teric for the defined package and stated dimensions.
Shearwater Teric Dive Computer w/ Air Integration Transmitter, Charger
The Shearwater Teric Dive Computer w/ Air Integration Transmitter, Charger suits shoppers who want a feature-rich computer package. Its description names a full-color AMOLED display, sapphire crystal, digital compass, Bluetooth, wireless rechargeable battery, and audible and vibration alerts. It also identifies a 200 m / 660 ft depth rating. Those concrete features make it a strong match for someone prioritizing display and connectivity details. The limitation is equally clear: at $899.99, it carries the highest listed price in this comparison. Choose it when that feature set fits your plan and the included package matters more than minimizing the purchase price.
Shearwater Perdix Wrist Dive Computer - Black - Original OG, NO AI
The Shearwater Perdix Wrist Dive Computer - Black - Original OG, NO AI is a direct match for shoppers seeking the original Perdix configuration without air integration. At $500.00, it is priced below both Teric entries, giving it a distinct place in the comparison. The important limitation is physical condition: the used unit has housing scratches, a screen protector with uncertain underlying condition, broken buckle arms, no box, and only the computer included. That makes it a choice for someone prepared to address strap hardware and cosmetic wear. Pick it for the named Perdix setup and lower listed price, not for a transmitter-inclusive package.
Suunto Cobra Dive Computer Air Integrated Console RGBM Nitrox with Extra Battery
Suunto Cobra Dive Computer Air Integrated Console RGBM Nitrox with Extra Battery is the low-price route to an explicitly air-integrated console. Its description names real-time tank-pressure monitoring, RGBM decompression, Nitrox support from 21% to 50%, an electroluminescent backlight, audible alarms, altitude adjustment, and an extra battery. Those details make it a practical match for shoppers focused on console pressure information and the listed battery inclusion. The limitation is format and scope: it is explicitly a console, and its named operating modes differ from the broader mode list attached to the Teric transmitter package. At $200.00, choose it for that specific console brief.
Final recommendation by use case
- For a transmitter-led setup: Choose the Shearwater Teric Dive Computer w/ Air Integration Transmitter, Charger. Its title and description directly center the transmitter package.
- For an air-integrated console: Choose the Suunto Cobra Dive Computer Air Integrated Console RGBM Nitrox with Extra Battery when console pressure monitoring is the priority.
- For a defined case-and-band specification: Choose the Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm, especially if its included charger and case fit the purchase brief.
- For the original Perdix configuration: Choose the Shearwater Perdix Wrist Dive Computer - Black - Original OG, NO AI only if its documented wear and strap issues are acceptable.
The gap between the lowest and highest listed prices is $699.99. That makes the final decision simple: pay for the exact air-data or mode package you want, or select the format and condition that best match how you plan to dive.
