Choosing among dive computers & instruments comes down to matching the computer to your priorities: straightforward wrist functions, multiple gas modes, a specific Teric configuration, or air integration with compass features. These four choices span USD 450.00 to USD 624.99, so the useful decision is about fit rather than assuming the highest-priced computer is the right one.
Quick take
There are two new Peregrine computers and two computers marked used. The practical split is between core wrist-computer functions, multi-gas operation, a defined Teric setup, and a transmitter-led Suunto package.
- Shearwater Research Peregrine Adventures Edition: a new Peregrine entry with a wrist-computer focus.
- Shearwater Research Peregrine: the modes-focused Peregrine choice.
- Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm: a used computer with a specific case and band configuration.
- Suunto EON Core Wrist Dive Computer: a used choice with a transmitter and USB named in the title.

- Wireless tank pressure and a digital compass: Suunto EON Core Wrist Dive Computer - White with Transmitter And USB.
Product notes
Shearwater Research Peregrine Adventures Edition Dive Computer
The Adventures Edition suits someone who wants a Peregrine model in new condition, with a wrist-worn design, decompression calculations, and dive profiling explicitly described. Its listed quantity is one unit, making the package straightforward to understand. The limitation is price position: it costs more than the Suunto's listed figure, so it is not the natural pick when the lowest listed price is the deciding factor. The new condition is a concrete reason to choose it over the used Suunto or Teric. Pick this version when a new wrist computer and core profiling functions matter more than wireless tank pressure or a digital compass.
Shearwater Research Peregrine Dive Computer
Shearwater Research Peregrine is a strong match for a diver who wants a full-colour 5.59cm LCD and a simple, intuitive layout. The screen and controls are presented as easy to navigate, giving this computer a clear interface-focused identity. Its limitation is the higher listed price compared with the Peregrine Adventures Edition. The gas modes also have defined boundaries: Nitrox is specified as single gas up to 40% O2, while 3 Gas Nitrox is up to 100% O2. Those figures should be matched carefully to the intended setup rather than treated as a quality ranking. Choose it when the colour display and multi-mode layout are central priorities.
Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm
The Teric is aimed at shoppers drawn to a specific configuration: a 55mm case, silicone band, Android compatibility, and an included genuine charger, case, documents, and carabiner. Those concrete details give the computer a defined setup beyond its model name. Its main limitation is that it is marked used, which matters to anyone specifically seeking new condition. It also carries the highest listed price in this comparison. Choose the Teric when the 55mm case, silicone band, and included-accessory combination are more important than minimizing price or selecting a new-condition Peregrine.
Suunto EON Core Wrist Dive Computer - White with Transmitter And USB
The Suunto is the clearest match for air integration and navigation features. Its description names wireless tank pressure, a digital compass, wireless mobile connection, rechargeable battery, updatable software, customizable settings, and a clear colour display with large digits. The title also specifically includes a transmitter and USB. Its limitation is the used condition, so it is less suitable for a shopper who has made new condition a requirement. Choose it when pressure information and compass functions belong in the same dive-computer setup, especially when the lowest listed price is an important part of the decision.
Final recommendations by use case
- For the lowest listed price and a transmitter-led package: choose the Suunto EON Core Wrist Dive Computer - White with Transmitter And USB.
- For a new Peregrine: both Peregrine entries are marked New. Choose the Adventures Edition when that title variant and wrist-computer emphasis fit your priorities.
- For multiple listed diving modes and a full-colour interface: choose Shearwater Research Peregrine Dive Computer.
- For a defined Teric configuration: choose Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm if the 55mm case, silicone band, and included charger and case are the deciding details.
The $174.99 spread is useful budget context, but the more important distinction is feature fit: the Suunto emphasizes pressure and compass functions, the Peregrine choices focus on wrist-computer operation, and the Teric is defined by its particular configuration.
