When choosing dive computers & instruments, the key question is not simply which screen looks appealing. Do you want air integration in a wrist computer, a console, or a package that includes a transmitter? These four choices also separate by named dive modes, compass features, display type, condition, and price. Start with the setup you will actually wear or carry, then use the feature differences to narrow the field.
Quick take
Two choices are Shearwater Teric models, while two are Suunto designs. The fastest way to narrow them is to decide whether you want a wrist or console format, whether a transmitter is part of the package, and which named display or dive-mode details matter. Listed prices span $200 to $899.99, creating a $699.99 spread from the lowest to the highest choice.

Decision matrix
- Named dive modes: The Teric package names Air, Nitrox, Trimix, Tech, CCR, and Freediving. The Cobra names Air, Nitrox, and Gauge, while the Teric Black 55mm identifies multi-gas decompression. The Eon Core emphasizes customizable settings.
- Format cues: The Cobra title identifies a console, the Eon Core title identifies a wrist computer, and the Teric Black title specifies a 55mm case. The other Teric title emphasizes an air-integration transmitter and charger package.
- Display cues: The Teric package uses a full-color AMOLED display, the Cobra description names an electroluminescent backlight, and the Eon Core description specifies a color display with large digits.
- Condition: The Cobra is identified as new. Both Teric choices and the Eon Core are identified as used.
Shearwater Teric Dive Computer w/ Air Integration Transmitter, Charger
Choose this Teric package if wireless charging, navigation-related instrumentation, and connectivity are high on your list. The description names a wireless charging station, digital compass, Bluetooth connectivity, audible and vibration alerts, and a 200 m / 660 ft depth rating. Those inclusions make it a coherent pick for divers who want several instruments and charging hardware together. The limitation is its used condition, alongside the highest listed price in the comparison. It fits a shopper who places the included accessory bundle and computer features ahead of a lower purchase price.
Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm
The Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm focuses on the computer, with a silicone band, genuine charger, case, documents, and Android compatibility. That combination suits shoppers who want a defined Teric accessory set rather than a larger bundle of named hardware. Its description also identifies multi-gas decompression, giving the model a clear technical-use emphasis. The concrete drawback is the used condition, and the accessories center on the computer, charger, case, and documents. Choose it when the included carrying and charging pieces are more useful to you than the transmitter-and-charger package attached to the other Teric choice.
Suunto Cobra Dive Computer Air Integrated Console RGBM Nitrox with Extra Battery
Suunto Cobra is built around a console setup, with air integration, RGBM Nitrox, and an extra battery in the title. The description adds real-time tank pressure monitoring, an electroluminescent backlight, audible alarms for ascent rate, depth limits, and safety stops, altitude adjustment up to 10,000 ft, and a logbook for up to 36 hours of dive profiles. Those details make it a practical match for a diver who wants pressure information and a console format. The limitation is the console format itself if wrist wear is the priority. Its condition is new, which is another concrete point in its favor.
Suunto Eon Core Wrist Dive Computer - White with Transmitter And USB
Suunto Eon Core brings the wrist format into focus, with a transmitter and USB included in the title. Its description calls out wireless tank pressure, a digital compass, wireless mobile connection, rechargeable battery, updatable software, and customizable settings. That collection suits shoppers who want air data, compass information, and adjustable controls in a wrist computer. The limitation is its used condition. Select it when the included transmitter and USB connection are useful parts of the setup, while the Teric package's AMOLED display and named modes are less central to your decision.
Final recommendation by use case
- For the broadest named dive-mode combination and a transmitter package: choose the Shearwater Teric Dive Computer w/ Air Integration Transmitter, Charger.
- For a Teric computer with a specified 55mm case and multi-gas decompression: choose the Shearwater Teric Dive Computer Black 55mm.
- For an air-integrated console with Air, Nitrox, and Gauge modes: choose the Suunto Cobra Dive Computer Air Integrated Console RGBM Nitrox with Extra Battery.
- For a wrist computer with a color display and large digits: choose the Suunto Eon Core Wrist Dive Computer - White with Transmitter And USB.
The right purchase starts with the physical setup you prefer, then comes down to whether the named modes, display details, included accessories, and condition align with your diving needs.
