Choosing golf balls is a tradeoff between a lower listed price, a larger set, a defined construction, and a putting-alignment aid. The four choices cover those decisions without pointing to one universal fit. Start with the use case that matters most, then compare condition, count, construction, and visual guidance.
Quick take
The condition split comes first: TaylorMade TP5 X and Callaway Supersoft are used/recycled, while the two TaylorMade Tour Response models are new. After that, the choice comes down to the specific product detail that matters most for your round.

Decision matrix
- White, distance-oriented set: TaylorMade TP5 X Used Golf Balls - white color, recycled-ball type, and a Distance feature.
- Matte color mix: Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix Used Golf Balls - color mix and a Distance feature distinguish the format.
- Construction: New TaylorMade Tour Response Golf Balls - 3-piece construction, urethane material, and Tour Preferred ball type.
- Putting visibility: New TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe Golf Balls - high visibility and improved visual feedback.
Product notes
TaylorMade TP5 X Used Golf Balls
The TaylorMade TP5 X Used Golf Balls fit a shopper who wants a white ball and near mint condition. The set contains 12 recycled balls and carries a Distance feature, making the format straightforward for replacing balls or building a small reserve. That combination is the concrete reason to choose it. The limitation is equally clear: the condition is Used, so it is not the match for someone specifically requiring new golf balls. Its AAAA Quality wording adds a defined condition label, but the used status remains the key tradeoff.
Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix Used Golf Balls
Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix Used Golf Balls fit a shopper drawn to a matte color mix rather than a single white presentation. Distance is a listed feature, so the concrete reason to choose it is the combination of visual variety and a distance-oriented brief. Its used-ball format separates it from the new TaylorMade Tour Response choices. The limitation is condition: it is identified as Used and Recycled, not New. The 72 Count wording gives the set a clear quantity focus, while shoppers focused on the lowest listed price may prefer the TaylorMade TP5 X.
TaylorMade Tour Response Golf Balls
New TaylorMade Tour Response Golf Balls suit a golfer who wants a new white ball with a clearly stated control focus. The description emphasizes soft feel, fast ball speeds, consistent flight, and greenside control, so the reason to choose it is the combination of New condition, Tour Preferred type, and control. The limitation is its USD 65.99 listed price, which is higher than either used choice. A golfer whose deciding detail is visible alignment should compare the Tour Response Stripe model instead.
TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe Golf Balls
New TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe Golf Balls make sense when putting visibility is central to the decision. The description calls out improved visual feedback, high visibility, soft feel, and distance performance, giving the golf ball a clear reason to choose it for putt setup and tracking the roll. The limitation is price: at USD 70.00, it is the highest listed-price choice in the comparison. The condition is New, and the model is TaylorMade Tour Response, so the key differentiator is the visual treatment.
Final recommendation by use case
- For the lowest listed price: choose TaylorMade TP5 X Used Golf Balls.
- For a 72 Count set: choose Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix Used Golf Balls.
- For 3-piece urethane construction: choose New TaylorMade Tour Response Golf Balls.
- For a visible alignment aid: choose New TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe Golf Balls.
The simplest decision is to start with condition. Choose one of the used/recycled sets when that format fits, then select between the white TP5 X and matte-mix Callaway. Choose the new TaylorMade Tour Response Golf Balls for construction, or the Stripe model when alignment visibility is the deciding detail.
