Choosing golf balls means balancing a new, distance-focused set against used or refurbished balls with a lower listed price. Pack size also changes the decision: a 12-pack serves a different need than a three-dozen or 72-count supply. The quickest way to narrow the field is to choose condition first, then match the ball's stated playing emphasis, color, and quantity to your rounds.
Quick take
The TaylorMade Distance+ is the clearest fit for new golf balls and speed-focused language. Srixon Q Star Tour stands out for its stated soft feel and greenside spin. TaylorMade TP5 X is the lowest-priced choice with near-mint, AAAA quality wording, while Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix is the largest-count selection with a color mix and Distance listed as a feature.

Product notes
Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix Used Golf Balls, Good Quality, 72 Count
Callaway makes its case with quantity: the 72-count pack and color mix suit a golfer who wants many balls on hand, while the attributes list Distance as a feature. At $58.65, it carries the highest listed price in this comparison, so the larger pack is the concrete reason to choose it over the smaller packs. The tradeoff is condition: these are used, good-quality recycled balls, and the mixed colors are less visually consistent than the white TaylorMade TP5 X. Choose Callaway when pack size and color variety matter more than new condition or a single-color set.
Srixon Q Star Tour Matte Mix Golf Balls, Good Quality, 12 Pack
Srixon Q Star Tour suits a golfer who wants a specific playing description in a 12-pack: its high-resilience core and ultra-thin urethane cover are paired with soft feel, distance, and greenside spin. The matte mix also adds visibility and a distinctive look on the course. At $16.99, it is $3.40 above TaylorMade TP5 X's listed price, so the decision is whether those feel and spin details justify the difference. The limitation is its Good Quality refurbished condition, which may include scuffs, blemishes, discoloration, smudged print, player markings, or logos. Choose Srixon for play characteristics rather than pristine appearance.
TaylorMade TP5 X Used Golf Balls, Near Mint Condition, AAAA Quality
TaylorMade TP5 X stands out at the lowest listed price, $13.59, with a 12-ball quantity, white color, and Near Mint Condition, AAAA Quality wording. That combination suits a golfer who wants a used distance-feature ball with a clear condition grade and a low entry price. The limitation is the used, recycled format: it does not provide the new condition offered by TaylorMade Distance+. Its 12-ball quantity also does not match the larger packs in the comparison. Choose TP5 X for the lowest price, white color, and near-mint/AAAA wording rather than for a stated construction or feel profile.
TaylorMade Distance+ Golf Balls - Three Dozen - New - White
For a golfer who wants new golf balls in a larger pack, TaylorMade Distance+ pairs three dozen with white color and two-piece construction. Its description emphasizes speed, easy compression, distance off the tee, soft feel, and a Plus Alignment Aid, while the attributes also list control and short game. The limitation is its higher listed price than the Srixon and TP5 X 12-packs: it is priced at $49.95. That tradeoff gives the choice a clear shape-new condition and a three-dozen format instead of the lowest upfront cost. Choose Distance+ when those factors matter most.
Final recommendation by use case
- Lowest listed price: TaylorMade TP5 X Used Golf Balls, Near Mint Condition, AAAA Quality.
- New golf balls with distance-focused wording: TaylorMade Distance+ Golf Balls - Three Dozen - New - White.
- Soft feel and greenside spin: Srixon Q Star Tour Matte Mix Golf Balls, Good Quality, 12 Pack.
- Largest listed quantity and mixed colors: Callaway Supersoft Matte Mix Used Golf Balls, Good Quality, 72 Count.
If condition is the deciding factor, start with Distance+ for new balls or narrow the choice to the three used/refurbished selections. If the playing description matters more, Srixon provides the most specific feel-and-spin emphasis; if the purchase is mainly about price, TP5 X is the straightforward starting point.
