Choosing among golf clubs & club fitting options starts with matching the tool to the shot you want, not simply choosing the highest price or a familiar model name. One important distinction comes first: the four choices here are disc golf drivers, with fairway- and distance-driver designations, rather than a golf iron set, shaft-fitting package, or custom golf club. The useful split is straightforward: do you want a fairway driver framed around first-driver and line-shaping use, or a distance driver described for long-range, turnover, and roller shots?
Quick take
The two Axiom Rhythm versions cover the fairway-driver side of the decision. The Fission Rhythm is described for newer players and power arms, while the Proton Rhythm adds first-driver, line-hitting, hyzer-flip, turnover, and roller use cases. Axiom FISSION VANISH is a distance driver with an understable flight description tied to thrower and wind conditions. Innova CHAMPION ROADRUNNER is also a distance driver, with emphasis on long-range, finesse, tunnel, turnover, and roller shots. Plastic and price separate the versions within those roles.
Listed-price comparison

Decision matrix
Use this quick matrix before choosing:
- Fairway-driver role: Axiom FISSION RHYTHM and Axiom PROTON RHYTHM.
- Distance-driver role: Axiom FISSION VANISH and Innova CHAMPION ROADRUNNER.
- First-driver or line-shaping language: The two Rhythm descriptions.
- Understable flight tied to thrower and wind: Axiom FISSION VANISH.
- Long-range finesse, tunnel, turnover, or roller language: Innova CHAMPION ROADRUNNER.
- Plastic distinction: Fission appears on Rhythm and Vanish, Proton on the second Rhythm, and Champion on Roadrunner.
Axiom FISSION RHYTHM
Axiom FISSION RHYTHM suits a shopper looking for the fairway-driver role described for a first driver or line-shaping disc. The Fission version carries speed 7, glide 5.5, turn -2, and fade 1, with a listed price of $21.95. Choose it when the fairway classification and Fission plastic match the intended throw. The limitation is straightforward: its listed price is at the top of this four-item range, and it is a Fairway Driver rather than the Distance Driver designation attached to Vanish and Roadrunner. That makes the model less suitable for a shopper whose priority is a distance-driver category.
Axiom PROTON RHYTHM
Axiom PROTON RHYTHM keeps the Rhythm model's fairway-driver identity while using Proton plastic and a listed price of $17.45. Its description frames it as a first straight driver and a line-hitting disc, with additional hyzer-flip, turnover, and roller uses for different power levels. That makes it a clear match when those shot lines matter and Proton is the preferred listed plastic. The limitation is category fit: it remains a Fairway Driver, so it does not answer a shopper specifically seeking the Distance Driver designation used by Vanish or Roadrunner. Its lower listed price than the Fission Rhythm is a concrete reason to compare the two versions closely.
Axiom FISSION VANISH
Axiom FISSION VANISH is the distance-driver pick for shoppers drawn to an understable disc that can be straight to understable according to thrower and wind conditions. Its listed speed 11, glide 5, turn -3, and fade 2 distinguish the model from the Rhythm entries, while Fission plastic and the $21.95 price identify this version. Choose it when that conditional flight description and Distance Driver role fit the intended use. The limitation is that the description ties stability to the thrower and wind, so the shot expectation is more context-dependent than a simple category label. It also sits at the highest listed price level here.
Innova CHAMPION ROADRUNNER
Innova CHAMPION ROADRUNNER is another Distance Driver, but its description emphasizes a different set of uses: long-range shots, finesse lines, turnover shots, low tunnel shots, and rollers. Champion plastic identifies the listed version. That makes Roadrunner a sensible match when the long-range or roller description fits the way you throw. Its limitation is fit: shoppers specifically seeking a Fairway Driver should stay with a Rhythm rather than choosing Roadrunner solely because it is labeled a distance driver. The Roadrunner's use-case language is also more focused on finesse, tunnel, turnover, and roller shots than on the Rhythm's line-shaping fairway framing.
Final recommendation by use case
For a first-driver or fairway line-shaping brief, choose between Axiom FISSION RHYTHM and Axiom PROTON RHYTHM; use Fission versus Proton as the version-level distinction. For an understable distance-driver description that changes with thrower and wind, choose Axiom FISSION VANISH. For long-range finesse, tunnel, turnover, or roller use, choose Innova CHAMPION ROADRUNNER. If listed price is the deciding factor, Roadrunner is the $14.95 choice, while the two Rhythm versions give you the closest like-for-like model comparison.
