For golf clubs & club fitting, the first decision is whether you need a traditional ball-golf club or a disc golf driver. These four items are disc golf drivers, so the useful comparison is fairway versus distance role, plus the throwing situation and plastic named for each disc. Match the disc's stated role to your throw first, then use price to settle close calls.
Quick take
The Axiom Rhythm pair is the fairway-focused choice, with both versions described for first-driver use or shaping lines. The Axiom FISSION VANISH and Discraft ESP HEAT are distance-driver choices with different throwing contexts. Within the Rhythm pair, Fission and Proton plastic are the main configuration difference. HEAT emphasizes a smaller rim and slower arm speeds, while VANISH's description makes thrower and wind conditions central to its flight.
Listed-price comparison
The listed prices span $16.95 to $21.95, a $5.00 spread from lowest to highest. The bars below are a visual scale for the four prices only; they do not rank throwing performance.

Decision matrix
- First-driver or line-shaping role: Choose an Axiom Rhythm. Both descriptions name those uses directly.
- Rhythm with Proton plastic: Choose Axiom PROTON RHYTHM when that plastic and its listed price fit the plan.
- Smaller rim and slower arm speeds: Choose Discraft ESP HEAT, whose description specifically calls out easier grip and distance at slower arm speeds.
- Distance driver with conditions in the equation: Choose Axiom FISSION VANISH when its straight-to-understable description, varying by thrower and wind, matches the intended use.
Axiom FISSION RHYTHM
Axiom FISSION RHYTHM fits a shopper who wants the listed fairway-driver role with a description aimed at newer players using a first driver or power arms shaping lines. Fission plastic is the defining configuration detail, and the title includes pick-your-weight-and-color wording for the chosen disc. The concrete limitation is its category: it is identified as a fairway driver, not a distance-driver model. At $21.95, it ties VANISH at the high end of the four listed prices. Pattern RF 2 identifies this version's listed color pattern, which helps distinguish it from the Proton Rhythm.
Axiom PROTON RHYTHM
Axiom PROTON RHYTHM makes sense when the Rhythm model appeals and Proton is the named plastic preference. Its description covers a first straight driver for lower-power players and line shaping for higher-power players, with hyzer flips, turnovers, and rollers also mentioned. The limitation is that it remains a fairway-driver model, so it does not fill the distance-driver role. At $17.45, it is $4.50 below FISSION RHYTHM and $0.50 above ESP HEAT, giving the plastic choice a clear price dimension. RP 12 is the listed color-pattern code for this version.
Axiom FISSION VANISH
Axiom FISSION VANISH suits a shopper specifically looking for a distance driver rather than a fairway model. The description calls its flight straight to understable depending on the thrower and wind, while Fission is the named plastic. That makes the disc's described stability context the key reason to choose it. The limitation is equally specific: thrower and wind conditions are part of the stability profile, so those conditions matter to the decision. At $21.95, it shares the highest listed price with FISSION RHYTHM. Color pattern VAF 24 identifies this version.
Discraft ESP HEAT
Discraft ESP HEAT is the direct match for a shopper prioritizing a smaller rim and a distance driver described for control, glide, and distance at slower arm speeds. ESP is the named plastic, and the description lists a 160-to-175 weight range alongside the title's pick-your-weight-and-color wording. The limitation is fit: HEAT is a distance driver, so it does not serve the fairway-driver role represented by the two Rhythm versions. If a particular weight matters, the stated range becomes part of the choice. At $16.95, it is the lowest listed price in this comparison.
Final recommendation by use case
For a traditional golf-club purchase, pause: none of these items is a ball-golf club. For disc golf, choose Axiom FISSION RHYTHM for the first-driver or fairway line-shaping description, and Axiom PROTON RHYTHM when Proton plastic and the lower Rhythm price matter. Choose Discraft ESP HEAT for the smaller-rim, slower-arm-speed use case. Choose Axiom FISSION VANISH when a distance driver with thrower- and wind-dependent stability is the better match. The $5.00 overall spread is small enough to let the throwing role lead and price settle close calls.
