Choosing golf clubs & club fitting options usually means matching equipment to your swing, distance goal, and budget. Here, the four choices are disc golf drivers rather than traditional golf irons, shafts, or golf drivers, so the useful decision is different: choose between a fairway driver for line shaping and distance drivers aimed at distinct throwing styles. The quick answer is to start with the Rhythm models for fairway control, the Heat for its smaller rim and slower-arm-speed description, or the Vanish for its 21mm-class distance-driver profile.
Quick take
- For a first driver or line shaping: Axiom FISSION RHYTHM and Axiom PROTON RHYTHM are both described for newer players and power-arm line shaping.
- For a smaller rim and slower arm speeds: Discraft Z HEAT is the clearest match, with the description emphasizing grip, control, glide, and distance.
- For a distance-driver profile that changes with thrower and wind: Axiom FISSION VANISH is described as straight to understable depending on conditions.
- For the same stated Rhythm flight ratings in different plastics: Compare Fission and Proton rather than assuming one has a numeric flight advantage.
Listed prices at a glance
The listed prices span USD 14.95 to USD 21.95, a $7.00 spread from the lowest to the highest choice.

| Axiom FISSION VANISH | USD 21.95 | |
| Discraft Z HEAT | USD 14.95 |
Decision matrix
- First-driver use: The Rhythm descriptions explicitly position both versions as suitable first drivers, with speed 7, glide 5.5, turn -2, and fade 1.
- Line shaping: Either Rhythm model fits the stated line-shaping use case; Fission and Proton plastic are the main model distinctions.
- Distance-driver use: Vanish and Heat both carry the distance-driver designation, but their descriptions target different situations.
- Slower arm speeds: Heat is the only choice specifically described around control, glide, and distance at slower arm speeds, along with a smaller rim for easier grip.
- Condition-dependent flight: Vanish is described in relation to thrower power and wind, with speed 11, glide 5, turn -3, and fade 2.
Product notes
Axiom FISSION RHYTHM Fairway Driver
At USD 21.95, the FISSION RHYTHM is the fairway-driver choice for a shopper who wants the Rhythm model in Fission plastic. Its description presents it as a first driver for newer players or a line-shaping fairway for power arms, and it lists speed 7, glide 5.5, turn -2, and fade 1. That exact rating set is also listed for PROTON RHYTHM, so the Fission version does not establish a different flight profile from the Proton version on ratings alone. The practical limitation is cost: it sits at the top of the listed range, tied with VANISH. Choose it for the Fission-specific Rhythm description, not for a claimed numeric edge.
Axiom PROTON RHYTHM Fairway Driver
At USD 17.45, PROTON RHYTHM pairs the Rhythm fairway-driver description with Proton plastic and a lower listed price than the Fission version. The description calls it a first straight driver and line shaper, with speed 7, glide 5.5, turn -2, and fade 1. Because those ratings match FISSION RHYTHM, the Proton model's clear distinctions are its plastic and price rather than a different stated rating profile. Its limitation is the fairway-driver designation: shoppers specifically seeking a distance-driver description will find that wording on VANISH or HEAT instead. The title also includes a weight-and-color selection phrase for narrowing the specific disc choice.
Axiom FISSION VANISH Distance Driver
With USD 21.95 attached, FISSION VANISH is the distance-driver choice built around a 21mm class and a more conditional flight description. It is described as straight to understable depending on the thrower and wind, with speed 11, glide 5, turn -3, and fade 2. That makes the use case more specific than simply choosing a fairway model for line shaping. The limitation is also stated directly in the flight description: behavior depends on throwing power and conditions, so it does not promise one fixed flight for every player or situation. Its listed price is tied with FISSION RHYTHM, making the 21mm distance-driver profile the concrete reason to select it.
Discraft Z HEAT Distance Driver
At USD 14.95, Discraft Z HEAT has the lowest listed price in this comparison and carries a distance-driver designation. Its description emphasizes control, glide, and distance at slower arm speeds, while also noting a smaller rim for easier grip. The listed ratings are speed 9, glide 6, turn -3, and fade 1, giving it a different stated profile from both Rhythm models and VANISH without making those numbers a ranking. One limitation is that the description says the disc color may vary slightly from the photo, while the attribute identifies Watermelon Pearl / Black. Choose HEAT for the smaller-rim wording and slower-arm-speed use case; choose a Rhythm model when fairway-driver use is central.
Final recommendation by use case
Choose Axiom PROTON RHYTHM if your priority is a first driver or line-shaping fairway with Proton plastic. Choose Axiom FISSION RHYTHM if you want that same stated Rhythm rating profile in Fission plastic and prefer the Fission-specific description. Choose Discraft Z HEAT when the smaller rim and slower-arm-speed description matter most. Choose Axiom FISSION VANISH when the 21mm-class distance-driver designation and its thrower-and-wind-dependent flight description fit your game.
