Choosing among pickleball paddles gets difficult when several JOOLA Ben Johns models use nearly identical naming. The real decision is whether you care most about the exact Perseus or Hyperion model phrase, a named surface or frame construction, or keeping the listed price low. Because control and power are named across the group, those two words alone do not separate the choices. This comparison narrows the decision to the details that actually vary.
Quick take
Use model identity as the first filter, not broad performance language. The four choices are the Perseus C2 CFS, Perseus CFS, Hyperion C2 CFS, and Perseus Pro IV. The first three use CFS in their names, while the fourth uses Pro IV wording; Hyperion is the different model family among the choices. Use the table for the price filter, then read the product notes for the surface, frame, feel, and construction cues attached to each name.

Decision matrix
- Exact Perseus C2 CFS wording: Choose the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus C2 CFS model when that specific name is the priority.
- Exact Perseus CFS wording: Choose the Joola Ben Johns PERSEUS CFS model when the CFS-named Perseus version is the intended match.
- Hyperion model identity: Choose the Joola Ben Johns Hyperion C2 CFS when Hyperion is the required model family.
- Perseus Pro IV identity: Choose the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV when that model phrase fits the intended purchase.
- Control or power: All four paddles use both terms in their descriptions, so neither phrase establishes an exclusive advantage. Let model identity, construction wording, and the listed-price table decide instead.
Product notes
JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus C2 CFS 16mm Black Carbon Pickleball Paddle
Choose the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus C2 CFS 16mm Black Carbon Pickleball Paddle when the named surface and shot-feel details are the priority. Its black carbon fiber surface is paired with stated spin potential, a soft-feel 16mm core, precise shot placement, and a large sweet spot. The ergonomic grip is another concrete comfort cue. The limitation is exact model matching: its name includes C2 CFS, which separates it from the similarly named Perseus CFS paddle. That distinction matters for shoppers who want the C2 version rather than a close Perseus title.
Joola Ben Johns PERSEUS CFS 16mm Carbon Pickleball Paddle
The Joola Ben Johns PERSEUS CFS 16mm Carbon Pickleball Paddle - Black New fits a shopper focused on the CFS-named Perseus version. CFS technology is tied to control and power, while the title adds carbon and black for a clear surface identity. Those details give it a specific reason to choose it without treating shared performance language as a ranking. Its limitation is the close naming: PERSEUS CFS is not the same phrase as Perseus C2 CFS, and the two choices carry different model identifiers. Pick this one when the PERSEUS CFS wording is the exact match you want.
Joola Ben Johns Hyperion C2 CFS Carbon Frame Paddle
Joola Ben Johns Hyperion C2 CFS 16mm Pickleball Paddle with Carbon Frame is the choice to examine when frame construction is the deciding detail. Its carbon friction surface, 16mm honeycomb polymer core, and carbon-frame design with reinforced edges are all named directly. The frame construction is linked to stability and prevention of edge damage, while the core is linked to control, touch, and vibration reduction. The limitation is model-family fit: the name is Hyperion, not Perseus, so it follows a different naming path from the other three paddles. That matters if the target is specifically a Ben Johns Perseus model.
JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm Paddle
At the low end of the price table, the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm Pickleball Paddle is the price-first choice. Its model name and 16mm thickness are clear, while control and power are both part of its stated play profile. That is a straightforward fit when spend is the first filter and those model and play cues define the shortlist. The limitation is model specificity: Perseus Pro IV is a different phrase from Perseus C2 CFS, Perseus CFS, and Hyperion C2 CFS. Choose it when the Pro IV name is the intended match; choose another model when an exact C2, CFS, or Hyperion designation matters.
