Shopping for golf clubs & club fitting gets tricky when the item in front of you is not a ball-golf club at all. Before worrying about a golf shaft fitting or custom golf club, decide whether you need equipment for a traditional golf bag or a disc golf bag. The MVP Simon Lizotte Proton Tesla is clearly aimed at the second use: a fairway driver in orange Proton plastic, with a 172g listed weight and a Simon Lizotte player edition.
Quick verdict
If you want a disc golf fairway driver with a specific model identity and a listed price of USD 12.95, the MVP Simon Lizotte Proton Tesla is easy to understand. Its stated role is a fairway driver with controllable flight and reliable distance, while the Simon Lizotte edition gives it added appeal for fans and collectors. The main limitation is fit: it belongs in a disc golf conversation, not a traditional golf-driver or iron-set fitting.
Who it suits
This Tesla makes the most sense for:
- Disc golfers looking for a fairway driver with a defined flight-number profile.
- Simon Lizotte fans interested in a player-edition disc.
- Collectors who want an orange MVP Tesla in Proton plastic.
- Shoppers who specifically want the listed 172g format.
It is less appropriate for someone searching for a golf club, golf iron set, or custom golf club, since the product is identified as a disc golf fairway driver.
MVP Simon Lizotte Proton Tesla Disc Golf Driver 172g Orange VG
A concrete reason to choose the MVP Simon Lizotte Proton Tesla is the combination of Proton plastic, orange color, and Simon Lizotte edition branding in one clearly identified model. The Tesla name also gives disc golfers a precise fairway-driver shape to consider rather than an unspecified disc. The important limitation is its condition: "VG" means Very Good, and the attributes identify it as used, so it carries a used-equipment trade-off rather than a new-condition presentation.
What stands out from the listed details
The flight profile is spelled out as Speed 9, Glide 5, Turn -1, and Fade 2. Those values give experienced disc golfers a compact way to recognize the disc's stated profile without turning a numerical label into a promise about performance. The product also combines a 172g weight with Proton plastic, while the orange finish and Simon Lizotte edition provide the most obvious identity and collecting cues.
The description emphasizes controllable flight and reliable distance. That makes the Tesla's intended role clearer than a generic disc labeled only as a driver: it is positioned as a fairway-driver choice for shaping a disc golf bag, with a player-edition angle for collectors.
Meaningful trade-offs
Category fit comes first. A disc golf fairway driver cannot replace a golf driver, golf iron set, or golf shaft fitting, so the purchase only makes sense when the goal is disc golf. The used VG condition is the other meaningful trade-off, especially for shoppers who prioritize a new-condition item.
The flight numbers should also be treated as the Tesla's profile-Speed 9, Glide 5, Turn -1, and Fade 2-not as a guarantee of a particular throw or result. They help identify the model, but personal throwing style and existing bag setup still determine whether the profile suits you.
Bottom line
For a disc golf bag or collection, the MVP Simon Lizotte Proton Tesla offers a focused combination of a named fairway-driver model, player-edition identity, orange Proton presentation, and explicit flight information. Choose it for that specific disc golf use; skip it when your search is really for traditional golf equipment or a new-condition purchase.
