Choosing among riding helmets, boots & apparel is less about finding one universal pick than matching a listed size, brim style, finish, and fit-friendly detail to your budget. These four helmets split into three Suomy Apex versions and one uvex perfexxion II xc, with a $442.37 spread between the lowest and highest listed prices.
The useful shortcut is to start with the detail that can rule a helmet in or out. Suomy gives explicit 57 cm and 58 cm Large Brim configurations plus distinct color names; uvex calls out L-XL, adjustable sizing, and a ponytail cutout. The Suomy Apex entries name ASTM F 1163-15, VG1 01, and PAS 015 2011, while uvex highlights an impact-resistant shell and shock-absorbing interior. These are different ways to narrow the choice, not a reason to assume one is universally superior.
Quick take
The Suomy choices are mainly a size-and-style decision: two list 57 cm, one lists 58 cm, and all three use the Large Brim attribute. The uvex entry takes a different route with L-XL wording, adjustable sizing, and a ponytail cutout. Use the table for the price comparison, then match the product note to the detail that matters most for your ride.

Product notes
Suomy Apex Riding Helmet - HNT Blue Navy Matte Horse Riding Helmet
The Suomy Apex HNT Blue Navy Matte Horse Riding Helmet is a focused match for a shopper who wants the 57 cm, Large Brim configuration and a restrained navy title color. It also specifies removable, washable inner padding, giving the care routine a concrete reason to consider it. The trade-off is the USD 455.20 listed price, plus the choice is tied to the 57 cm configuration rather than the 58 cm size shown by the black HNT version. Pick it when the Blue Navy wording and Large Brim attribute matter more than choosing the lowest-priced helmet.
Suomy Apex Riding Helmet - HNT Black Matte Horse Riding Helmet
Suomy Apex HNT Black Matte Horse Riding Helmet fits the 58 cm path while keeping the Large Brim and matte HNT styling named in the title. Its inner-padding details include removable, washable padding and anti-odor materials, which gives shoppers a specific interior-care reason to consider it. The limitation is the USD 455.20 listed price, well above the uvex entry in the table, and the listed size is 58 cm rather than the 57 cm configuration attached to the blue navy and chrome versions. Choose it when black styling and the 58 cm detail are the decisive combination.
Suomy Apex Riding Helmet - Chrome Blue/Rose Gold Matte Horse Riding Helmet
Suomy Apex Chrome Blue/Rose Gold Matte Horse Riding Helmet is the color-led Suomy choice: its title combines those two color names with the Apex helmet phrase, while the attributes list 57 cm and Large Brim. Aerodynamic ventilation and removable inner padding add concrete functional details to the configuration. The limitation is the USD 508.00 listed price, the highest in this group, so it requires the largest price commitment without adding a different listed size from the 57 cm HNT Blue Navy version. Choose it when Chrome Blue/Rose Gold is the visual deciding factor.
uvex perfexxion II xc Horse Riding Helmet, Women & Men - Black Matte, L-XL
The uvex perfexxion II xc is the fit-detail alternative. Its title gives an L-XL configuration, and its sizing details specifically mention a ponytail cutout plus adjustable width and height. That combination makes it relevant for riders whose long hair or adjustability needs come first. The limitation is its condition label, New other (see details), rather than the New condition attached to the Suomy entries. It also emphasizes an impact-resistant shell and shock-absorbing interior, giving it a different feature emphasis from the Suomy helmets' named standards and padding details.
Final recommendation by use case
- For 57 cm and Large Brim: choose the Suomy Apex HNT Blue Navy Matte for the navy title color, or the Chrome Blue/Rose Gold Matte version when that color pairing is the priority.
- For 58 cm and Large Brim: choose the Suomy Apex HNT Black Matte Horse Riding Helmet.
- For long hair and adjustable width and height: choose the uvex perfexxion II xc.
- For the clearest budget split: use the $442.37 price spread as the dividing line. The uvex is the lower-priced direction; the Suomy Apex choices are for shoppers selecting among their specific size and color configurations.
