Choosing among disc golf baskets, retrievers & markers starts with the practice problem you want to solve. Do you need a target that is easier to move, a narrower challenge for putting focus, a regulation-oriented setup, or simply the lowest listed price? These four choices are all baskets, but their descriptions point to distinct practice priorities.
Quick take
The main split is between portability, target difficulty, formal PDGA specifications, and price. The Black Hole Lite emphasizes a lighter portable format, the Black Hole Precision narrows the target, the Black Hole Pro carries explicit PDGA Approved wording, and the Black Hole Practice sits at the lowest listed price.

Decision matrix
- If moving the target is the priority: focus on the lighter portable design and quick assembly described for the Black Hole Lite.
- If putting focus is the priority: look for the narrow, unforgiving target area specified for the Black Hole Precision.
- If formal course dimensions and approval matter: the Black Hole Pro explicitly carries PDGA Approved wording and standard PDGA height and size specifications.
- If price leads the decision: the Black Hole Practice has the lowest listed price, while its description identifies a no-header-band design with lighter chains.
Product notes
MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Lite Catcher Target
Portability is the clearest reason to choose the MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Lite Catcher Target. The description puts it at just under 26 lb, calls it 25% lighter than the Black Hole Pro, and says it assembles or disassembles in under a minute. Its 12 outer and 12 inner course-weighted chains, welded all-metal construction, and threaded tension connector give the basket a specific portable-practice profile. The limitation is the Light-Duty basket-type designation: shoppers whose requirement is the Pro's explicit PDGA Approved description should select the Pro instead. The Lite is the more direct fit when moving the target matters most.
MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Pro Catcher Target
The MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Pro Catcher Target is the clearest match for a realistic off-course putting setup. Its description specifies high-visibility zinc-coated heavy-duty course-weighted chains, threaded tension connections, welded all-metal construction, and PDGA approval built to standard PDGA height and size regulations. That combination gives shoppers concrete reasons to prioritize this model when regulation-based dimensions and course-style chain construction matter. The limitation is its USD 149.95 listed price, the highest of the four. Choose it when the explicit PDGA-approved positioning matters more than keeping the purchase at the lower end of the comparison.
MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Precision Catcher Target
The MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Precision Catcher Target is aimed at practice that deliberately narrows the visual challenge. Its 12-inch chain-tier diameter and narrow focused target area are described as unforgiving, making the model a natural fit for sharpening focus and reducing misses. It also uses high-visibility zinc-coated heavy-duty course-weighted chains, all-metal construction, and a threaded tension connection, with assembly or disassembly in under a minute. The tradeoff is built into the design: a narrow, unforgiving target is less suitable for someone seeking a broad, more forgiving catching experience. At USD 119.95, it shares the Lite's listed price.
MVP Black Hole Practice 24-Chain Disc Golf Basket
The MVP Black Hole Practice 24-Chain Disc Golf Basket makes the most sense for a straightforward portable practice setup. Its description pairs a heavy-duty portable base, pole, and cage assembly with PDGA height and diameter specifications, while the title makes the 24-chain format clear. The limitation is equally specific: the Practice model has no header band and uses lighter chains, while the Pro and Precision descriptions call out course-quality heavy-gauge chain. That makes it a less direct fit when the chain construction described for those two models is the deciding detail, even though its portable assembly gives it a clear everyday-practice role.
Final recommendations by use case
- For portability: choose the MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Lite Catcher Target.
- For a focused putting challenge: choose the MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Precision Catcher Target.
- For an explicitly PDGA-approved setup: choose the MVP Disc Golf Basket Black Hole Pro Catcher Target.
- For the lowest listed price: choose the MVP Black Hole Practice 24-Chain Disc Golf Basket at USD 114.99.
The right choice depends less on the black finish shared across the baskets and more on whether your deciding detail is mobility, target focus, approval language, or the price shown in the comparison.
